We had this very drab grey looking concrete walkway for ages, and really didn’t know what to do with it. Ripping out the concrete seemed such a backbreaking task and in any case we would still have two replace the concrete with some other suitable surfacing material. I guess we could have laid down some pea gravel or something similar, but the cost of the demolition plus the cost of the the gravel and the time and effort that would involve, seemed like such an unappealing option.
So these interlocking wood patio pavers from SwiftDeck www.swiftdeck.com were an ideal solution. All we had to do was lay the pavers directly over the top of the existing concrete walkway. There was no surface preparation, nothing. We just tok them out of the box, started laying at one end of the walkway, and kept going and till it was finished. The tiles are perfectly square, so we didn’t have to worry about any alignment – they just clicked perfectly into place. We first of all thought this would take a few hours to complete, but we didn’t realise how quick and easy it would be. In fact we had the whole 40 feet or so of the walkway finished in just under an hour. And as you can see, the end result is amazing – so much better than that drab old pathway before.
